1. Gibberellic acid breaks the dormancy of black seed pumpkin seeds and improves the germination rate.
Black seed pumpkin plants have strong growth potential and are resistant to wilt disease. They are excellent rootstocks for grafting cucumbers and watermelons. The dormancy period of fresh black seed pumpkin seeds is more than 6 months, which makes grafting and seedling raising difficult. Plant growth regulators can break dormancy and promote the germination of black seed pumpkin seeds.
(1) Use period: before sowing.
(2) Usage method: Soak the seeds in warm water at about 30℃ for 1~3h, and rub off the mucous membrane on the seed coat. Soak the seeds in a GA3 solution with a concentration of 4mg/L for 2~3h. After taking out, soak the seeds in clean water for 3~4h, wrap them with a wrung wet towel and germinate them at 25~30℃. The germination rate of black seed pumpkin seeds is significantly improved, which is 76% higher than that of the clean water control.
2. Sodium nitrophenolate (ATONIK) and IBA·NAA mixture promotes germination of zucchini seeds
(1) Use time: before sowing.
(2) Usage: Soak the seeds in 1.4% sodium nitrophenolate (ATONIK) solution (160 mg/L) for 5-12 hours, or soak the seeds in 10-15 mg/L IBA·NAA mixture for 2-4 hours to increase the germination rate of zucchini and promote rooting of seedlings.
